Naumann Stahl GmbH & Co.KG counts on Green Steel plates made in Ilsenburg

The path towards a sustainable economy does not stop at energy generation from renewable sources; the decarbonization of industry also involves the use of sustainably produced raw materials. As a subsidiary of Salzgitter AG, customers of Ilsenburger Grobblech GmbH will benefit by an almost CO2-free steel production in the future through the SALCOS® program (Salzgitter Low CO2 Steelmaking). Naumann Stahl GmbH & Co.KG, our long-standing trading partner, supports the transformation of the steel industry and together we signed a cooperation agreement regarding Green Steel.

For more than 60 years, Naumann Stahl GmbH & Co.KG has been an established player in the trade of steel plates in high-quality steel grades. Around 20,000 t of steel plates in various special grades are stored at the headquarters in Neuss for call-off all over the world. Today still 100% family or privately owned, the trading company works with great competence and passion in the steel industry.

Naumann GmbH & Co.KG and Ilsenburger Grobblech GmbH have been collaborating in a close partnership for many years, which is now being extended to include Green Steel plates. To this end, both parties have signed a cooperation agreement. The aim is to obtain the accustomed high-quality products with a significantly lower CO2 footprint in the near future. "We are pleased to announce this agreement with Naumann Stahl GmbH & Co. KG, the first non-group partner in German trading. The availability of Green Steel will also be a decisive point in the transformation of steel products in trade distribution," Tony Dachner, Sales Manager at Ilsenburger Grobblech GmbH, about the announced agreement. In this way, both partners are not only taking an important step towards sustainability, but also confirming their future cooperation on the way to a sustainable industry.
