State-of-the-art process technology for maximum quality
At the heart of our heat treatment line is the state-of-the-art multifunctional quench, which came into operation in 2021. Water distribution tailored specifically to each plate ensures consistently high quality. To achieve a high-quality, scale-free surface, the plates undergo pre-blasting prior to heat treatment. They are then heated in an energy-efficient furnace in a nitrogen atmosphere, which prevents renewed scaling and ensures a homogeneous surface. Tempering takes place in the multifunctional quench, where further microstructural properties are adjusted using defined cooling strategies.

The principles for quality, occupational safety, and environmental management developed as part of our Integrated Management System (IMS) ensure the high quality of our heavy plates and the satisfaction of our customers. Compliance with and optimization of these principles are regularly reviewed by internal and external auditors.
