OTTOSTAHL GmbH and Ilsenburger Grobblech GmbH go for Green Steel in trading business

In the future, OTTOSTAHL GmbH will also rely on heavy plates made from Green Steel. To this end, the company has signed a cooperation agreement together with Ilsenburger Grobblech GmbH, which will supply the trading company with CO2-reduced steel plates.

As an experienced partner in heavy plate and steel processing, with a focus on northern and eastern Germany, OTTOSTAHL offers broad expertise and customer-oriented solutions. In order to meet the challenges of the future and the needs of the customers, the company will expand its range of products to include heavy plates made from Green Steel. OTTOSTAHL and Ilsenburger Grobblech GmbH have agreed on this in a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

Ilsenburger Grobblech GmbH is an essential part of the steel processing companies within Salzgitter AG. The SALCOS® (Salzgitter Low CO2 Steelmaking) transformation program aims to ensure virtually CO2-free slab production by 2033, which will be the basis of the Green Steel plate production in highest quality at the Ilsenburg plant. In addition, CO2-reduced steel is already available via the so-called Peiner Route. The agreement once again demonstrates the determination with which the transformation in the steel sector is being driven forward and reaffirms the partnership with OTTOSTAHL.
