Low-emission heavy plate with short lead times

The SALCOS® direct delivery program enables our customers to meet urgent requirements for emission-reduced heavy plate. Selected structural, offshore, high-strength and abrasion resistant steels are available at short notice. Produced from scrap-based electric steel using conventional blast furnace production, the heavy plates guarantee a 75% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to conventional blast furnace production.

We are now responding to the growing demand for CO2-reduced plate with our SALCOS® direct delivery program, offering our customers shorter delivery times for selected green steel products. The program includes the following steel grades in custom dimensions for structural, offshore and high-strength or abrasion resistant applications:
- S355J2+N
- S355J2C+N
- S420MLO
- BRINAR® 400 / MAXIL® S690Q
Up to 75% of CO2 emissions are saved by producing slabs from scrap metal in the electric arc furnace and continuous caster. The low-emission heavy plates have a global warming potential (GWP) of 590.9 kg CO₂ equivalent per ton - significantly lower than that of conventionally produced products. Low-CO2 steel is in no way inferior to conventional steel since it has the same properties.
