„Bundesagentur für Arbeit“ certifies exemplary inclusion

The „Agentur für Arbeit“ (Federal Employment Agency) honors Ilsenburger Grobblech for its outstanding commitment to the training and employment of people with disabilities by awarding the "Certificate for Successful Inclusion" to the company. With its department „Technischer Sozialbereich“ and the associated integration work, ILG is regarded as a model company not only in the Harz region, but also far beyond.

 

Ilsenburger Grobblech’s longstanding natural commitment to the integration of people with disabilities is one of the region's lighthouse initiatives and has now been recognized by the „Agentur für Arbeit“. "There are not many social enterprises like this," resummed Heike Schittko, Chairwoman of the Management Board of „Agentur für Arbeit“ Saxony-Anhalt West at the presentation of the "Certificate for Successful Inclusion".

The award was no coincidence, as the employment of people with disabilities has played an important role in the company for decades. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the department „Technischer Sozialbetrieb“. Established in 1992 to provide employees with severe disabilities with a secure job within the limits of their abilities, it continues to play an important role today, employing up to ten people.  This department is not the only field of work. Further value-adding jobs are offered within the whole company.

Bis zu zehn Mitarbeitende sind dort beschäftigt, darüber hinaus existieren auch in anderen Bereichen der ILG wertschöpfende Tätigkeiten für Kolleginnen und Kollegen mit Beeinträchtigungen.

The internal transport of samples, the exchange of mail and goods with Salzgitter AG, the maintenance of the company-wide bicycle pool and the operation of the impressive forklift trucks are just some of the tasks that the employees of the department „Technischer Sozialbetrieb“ perform. "Our colleagues with disabilities are not just kept on. They make a valuable contribution to the company," declares Beatrice Fiege, Managing Director Human Resources.

The company's integration work is carried out in close cooperation between management, the human resources department and the works council. In Carsten Kremling, the representative for employees with disabilities, the employees concerned have a direct contact person at all times. The commitment of our colleagues in the department „Technischer Sozialbetrieb“ has become an important part of the company and would be inconceivable without it.
