The Peine Bridge (Germany)

This bridge, built by Stahlbau Engineering Hannover (SEH) in a joint venture with the company Echterhoff, and fabricated in the SEH group workshop Eiffel in Lauterbourg/Alsace, is part of an overall bridge complex measuring 455 m in length, which, as part of the Peine bypass, crosses the railway and works tracks and the industrial site of the company Peiner Träger GmbH. Besides the 159 m long lattice girder bridge, the overall complex includes a composite steel bridge.

The lattice girder bridge, for the construction of which Ilsenburger Grobblech GmbH supplied grade S355J2G3 and S355J2G1W plates, was planned as a crossing over the railway tracks. The structure has two traffic lanes, an emergency pathway with railings, crash barriers and a combined footpath and cycle path. The optical fiber cables laid on top of the upper chords, which immerse the bridge in blue light at nighttime, are a special feature of the bridge.
