The Second Strelasund Crossing (Germany)

In future the second Strelasund crossing will be the longest road bridge in Germany. The heart of the crossing is a bridge structure consisting of six substructures, which will connect the islands of Rügen, near to Altefähr, with Stralsund on the mainland. Two traffic lanes and, depending on the traffic situation, a 3rd traffic lane our planned to run parallel to the existing Rügen causeway. The Ziegelgraben Bridge will be particularly impressive. Between 2004 and 2005 ILG has supplied approximately 3,050 to. of steel plates to the company Max Bögl. These plates have been used, for example, for the manufacture of the pylon for the Ziegelgraben Bridge.
