The Second Strelasund Crossing (Germany)
In
future the second Strelasund crossing will be the longest road bridge in Germany. The
heart of the crossing is a bridge structure consisting of six substructures,
which will connect the islands of Rügen, near to Altefähr, with Stralsund on the
mainland.
The Freeway Bridge Rudna-Hrusov (Poland)
The
Czech freeway D47 runs from Lipnik to the Polish border near to Ostrava. The Rudna-Hrusov
bridge was erected as part of this freeway, in construction phase 4708, near to
Ostrava in the
vicinity of the Polish border.
The Peine Bridge (Germany)
This bridge, built by Stahlbau Engineering
Hannover (SEH) in a joint venture with the company Echterhoff, and fabricated
in the SEH group workshop Eiffel in Lauterbourg/Alsace, is part of an overall
bridge complex measuring 455 m in length, which, as part of the Peine bypass,
crosses the railway and works tracks and the industrial site of the company
Peiner Träger GmbH.
Rion Antirion Bridge
This suspension bridge, named after the former
Greek Premier Harilaos Trikoupis, connects the mainland of western Greece near Patras with the Peloponnese
peninsular. 2,500 m in length, it is one of the longest bridges
in the world. Instead of a 40 minute ferry crossing, it now takes only 5
minutes to cross the bridge.
Haseltal Bridge in Suhl (Germany)
The Haseltal
Bridge is one of the most
interesting bridge projects in recent years. With a length of 845 m and a
maximum height of 82 m it spans the Haseltal
Valley directly at the Suhl motorway junction.
This bridge not only has a gateway function for the town of Suhl,
but also offers the possibility among other things of crossing the railway line
to Erfurt and a
trade park that is listed as a historic monument.
Hanover Exhibition Hall
The
length of the hall is 238 m, having been completed in September 1998. With a
width of 135 m it is therefore the largest unsupported hall in Europe. The covered area amounts to 32,000 m², which is
equivalent to a slightly more than three football pitches. In total 2,400 to.

The Bertelsmann Pavilion for the Expo 2000 Trade Fair (Germany)
The Bertelsmann pavilion at the EXPO-Plaza in Hanover consists of two
buildings: a right-angled block and an amorphous round body, i.e. planet m. This round building hovers on six pairs of
supports at a height of 9 m above the EXPO-Plaza.
The Biggest Railway Swing Bridge over the Suez Canal (Egypt)

Canal is the biggest swing bridge in the world. It was erected
between September 1998 and October 2001, having a length of 640 m and a height
of up to 60 m.
