The Goliath Crane of the Company MAN TAKRAF

This gigantic crane for the Odense Steel Shipyard in Denmark was handed over just 14 months after placement of the order in May 2001.

This means that just 17 months after the loss of the old crane the shipyard has a state-of-the-art Goliath crane, whose concept, with four crane trolleys and six hoists, allows an extremely high degree of flexibility when handling ship sections. The possibility exists of lifting loads that are extremely off-center in relation to the crane, due to which the variability can be increased with respect to the design of the sections.
