Aircraft Towing Tractor AST-1

The tow-bar-free aircraft towing tractors in the series AST-1 move aircraft with a weight of up to 425 to. By doing without the tow bars and due to the higher travel speeds aircraft movements can be coped with up to three times faster than with conventional tow bar tractors.

Due to the multitude of aircraft types, but also on account of the size of present day airports, logistics make the requirement of being able to move aircraft more flexibly, faster and without having to take tow bar into consideration, enabling better use of the existing infrastructure of airports.

The vehicle frame of the AST-1 is made of high tensile fine-grained structural steel. Plate thicknesses of up to 100 mm are welded together to form a vehicle frame with the weight of approximately 10 tons.
