Whether they are for the impressive cupola roof of the new world cup stadium in Durban, South Africa, or the Goldhofer’s efficient aircraft tractors: Our high tensile and wear-resistant plates with the trade marks MAXIL^® and BRINAR^® offer optimal material properties that enable even unusual ideas to become a reality.

Together with the trade mark RESTIL^® they stand for the quality of steel from Ilsenburg.

Wear causes costs. That is why we offer a series of suitable materials by means of which costs can be reduced, for example our wear-resistant BRINAR^® steels. With their optimized alloy concept and fine distribution of very hard chromium and molybdenum carbides they offer a long service life, even under extreme wear conditions, while providing good processing properties at the same time.

We are able to meet the highest production requirements of a broad range of consumers with our steel grade MAXIL^®. The high tensile, fine-grained structural steel MAXIL^®, which is suitable for welding, achieves its characteristic combination of high strength values and very good toughness properties from its finely dispersed tempered microstructure. In comparison to conventional structural steels the distinguishing features of MAXIL^® are its low own weight, yet high load capacity and reduced welding costs. For the consumer this means a higher added value and extended construction possibilities.

RESTIL^® is our trade mark for steels with a defined resistance to hydrogen induced cracking. This grade is attained through its very high degree of purity, low sulphur content and its uniform, almost segregation-free microstructure. With RESTIL^® we are able to provide an acid gas resistant product whose area of application is going to become increasingly more important over the next few years, as sweet mineral oil and the natural gas reserves are becoming scarcer and because of the continuous cost increases for the development of new deposits.
