The product range of Ilsenburger Grobblech GmbH comprises conventional structural steels, pipe steels, offshore steels, steels for pressure vessel construction, shipbuilding steels, case-hardened and heat-treatable steels, quenched and tempered steels, stainless and acid resistant steels and high-tensile wear resistant steels of the dimensions: *
Thickness: 5 mm to 125 mm
Width: max. 3500 mm
Length: max. 24 m
(* Corresponding dimensions for the different steel types are listed in our product catalog.)
The high-tensile and wear resistant steels are produced at the Salzgitter location on one of the world's most advanced quenching and tempering unit (chill cooling stand). These steel types impress with their uniform properties, a high degree of levelness and dimensional accuracy, low internal tension and good processing capabilities.
We produce high-tensile steels of the steel grades S 500 Q, QL and QL1to S 1100 Q.
In addition to the quenched and tempered wear resistant steels Brinar® 400 and Brinar® 500, we also offer the wear resistant special steel Brinar® 400 Cr within the Brinar® product series. Thanks to its special alloy structure, this steel type is an ideal solution for high-temperature applications.
In addition to the chill cooling stand, the Salzgitter plant operates a sheet processing line. The plate is scaled and coated with a primer in the shot blasting and coating line. All the edges of the steel sheet are milled on a plate beveling line (welding seam preparation) in order to produce plate with tight tolerances in terms of dimensions, angularity and parallelism of edges. The sheet can be formed to customer specified radii on the sheet bending machine.
In addition to the in-house heavy plate product range, Ilsenburger Grobblech GmbH can also supply products from the Mannesmannröhren Werke AG heavy plate milling plant in Mülheim (sheet width to 4700 mm).
